Communications campaign for the national tour of Tim Peake’s Spacecraft presented by Samsung and the Science Museum Group

1.3 million people visited Tim Peake’s Spacecraft and Space Descent VR during a 20-month tour to 8 venues across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

As communications lead for the national tour of Tim Peake’s Spacecraft, presented by Samsung and the Science Museum Group (SMG), I worked closely with Samsung and the SMG development team to raise nationwide awareness of all elements of this large-scale project. The campaign brought the UK’s recent space history to the public in all parts of the country through a real space artefact and through a Space Descent VR tour bus experience, ensuring that Tim Peake’s mission continued to engage and inspire the UK public. The communications campaign built the profile of the Science Museum Group and its expertise, and positioned Samsung’s support at the heart of the messaging to provide high-quality corporate communications outputs and deliver tangible benefit for both partners.

Communications consultancy on the cultural regeneration of Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site

As an Account Director, I managed a team providing specialist cultural communications consultancy on a project delivering the cultural regeneration of Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. I worked with client teams across a range of initiatives, advising during the masterplanning phase on strategies for getting the most communications value out of projects in archaeology, arts and culture, community participation and nature. I worked on strategy development focusing on building the profile of an important historical site and communicating the cultural regeneration of the area to a worldwide target audience with integrity and in phases.

The communications campaign focused on international public relations including delivering high profile press conferences, liaison with international experts, strategy development and stakeholder management.

communications and audience development consultancy for a london museum

Working with the Board of Trustees, Director and volunteers of The Brunel Museum in Rotherhithe, I worked to deliver an initial communications campaign to mark the museum’s reopening in summer 2020 following a period of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic. I then delivered a comprehensive communications and audience development strategy for the museum at a crucial time in its major redevelopment project. The strategy was designed to provide guidance on sector best practice and to ensure implementation plans were tailored to the museum’s resources and development timelines.
